Check and Double Check B+ £90 (4x400’) OB Now here is a
film I doubt you will find anywhere else but on 8mm, it was made in 1930, and
is a spinoff of the popular radio program of the time “Amos ‘N’ Andy” about two
wisecracking Black men who get into all kinds of scrapes, which while fine on
the radio, in real life the actors portraying them (Freeman F. Godden &
Charles J. Correll) were in reality
white men, now this being 1930 they just wore Blackface like the old
minstrel shows, the story has the boys trying to start up a Taxi business,
where they get caught up in a society hassle involving driving musicians to a swanky
party. This was the only big screen appearance of the radio stars, it’s
actually quite funny in places, once you get over the shock how the leads are
portrayed! Niles Films import! 18926
