10474 The Riddle of the Sands B+/B £90 (800’ & 2x600’) Michael York, Jenny Agguter & Simon MacCorkindale star in this thriller from 1979, as two yachtsmen find out about a plot to invade Britain by a flotilla of small ships in the early years of the Twentieth Century (just before WW1), and must outwit the German Navy commanded by Kaiser Wilhem himself. Fair 8mm print, perhaps a little on the pale side in some scenes, but very acceptable, and rare

12167 Charge Of The Model T’s B+ £65 (3x600’) Family comedy from 1977, it’s set during WW1, it’s about a German spy who is driving a specially modified, heavily armoured Ford across Texas, will anyone catch him. The 8mm print is still pretty good overall

12379 The Glass Mountain B+ £95 (1x800’ & 2x600’) Made in 1949 this stars Michael Denison, Dulcie Gray & Valentina Cortese. An aspiring composer serving with the R.A.F. during WW2 is shot down in Italy, he’s saved by a young Italian woman, once home he writes an Opera and realises although married he’s fallen in love with his Italian saviour

13418 The Sword of Monte Cristo B+/B £60 (4x400’) OB Made in 1951 it’s set in Napoleonic France where rebels are making the governments lives a pain, especially when one of the masked rebels (a woman, no less!) is the heir to the fabled Treasure of Monte Cristo and is willing to use it to fund the rebels. It’s a bit dated, but still fun

13608 Hobson ’s Choice B/B- £60 (3x800’) P/N: Has a few splices Well run print of this David Lean directed comedy drama starring Charles Laughton & John Mills. The print has quite a few black lines, but might improve a lot if cleaned with Thermofilm or the like

14699 Intermezzo – A Love Story (4x400’) B+ £80 F/L print of this 1939 love story with a healthy dose of music as well, it stars Ingrid Bergman & Leslie Howard, a concert violinist becomes enamoured by his daughters piano teacher, he invites her to go on tour with them, and they start to make beautiful music on & off stage together, very young Ingrid Bergman

14715 The Desert Trail B+ £65 (3x400’) Rare 1935 John Wayne western adventure, he’s wrongly accused with a friend of armed robbery, so they go looking for the dastardly critters that really did it. Although I’ve classed this print as a B+, there are some marks printed through from the master used, but as the film is over 80 years old, you have to expect it

14918 Dementia 13 B+ £85 (4x400’) Rare American import of this 1963 psychological thriller from a young Francis Ford Coppola, a woman kills her husband on a boating trip, hopeful she will inherit his money, but something strange is happening, someone (or something) is seen wielding an axe, intent on murder!

14931 The Ranger and the Lady B+/B £65 (3x400’) OB Derann release from their ‘Movieola Series’, it stars Roy Rogers, George ‘Gabby’ Hayes and Julie Bishop. Made in 1940 Roy Rogers plays a Texas Ranger who comes to the assistance of a lady owner of a Wagon Train wo uses the Santa Fe trail

14945 Rome Express B+/B & B+ £65 (5x400’) P/N: Pt.1 on colour stock British thriller from 1932, with plenty of those stunning train shots associated with this type of film. A man on the hunt for a stolen Van Dyke painting boards a train for Rome, where he finds a motley crew of suspects, including adulterous lovers, a French Police chief, and even an American silent film star. The sound is a bit primitive, but the film still holds your attention, even today!

11786 The Cat And The Canary B+ £75 (2x800’) Made in 1927 by Universal this stars Laura La Plante, Creighton Hale and Forrest Stanley. Relatives of an eccentric Millionaire gather at his spooky mansion for the reading of his will on the 20th anniversary of his death, all the money and estate goes to his only living relative who shares his name (La Plante), but there’s a catch, she has to be declared sane, if she is not, a 2nd name in a seled envelope will get the lot, methinks some jiggery pokery will start, don’t you! This is a well made silent classic, that still holds your attention today!

13497 Canadian Pacific B/B+ £60 (6x400’) Randolph Scott, Jane Wyatt & J. Carrol Naish star in this Western adventure based around the building of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, Scott plays a surveyor who finds a vital pass for the new railroad, but ther’e opposition from the Fur trappers and those pesky Indians!

13538 The Senator was Indiscreet B/B-B+ £45 (3x600’) William Powell stars in this 1947 comedy, he plays a bumbling Senator, but gets in a real panic when his tell-all diary is stolen

11636 Intolerance: Love’s Struggle Throughout The Ages B+ £120 (6x400’) Made in 1916 by D.W. Griffith it stars Lillian Gish and Douglas Fairbanks in a story of a poor young woman separated by prejudice from her husband and baby, interwoven with stories of prejudice throughout history

12063 The Lost World B+/B £75 (3x400’) This is the first film adaptation of the Arthur Conan Doyle fantasy, it was made in 1925 and starred Wallace Beery & Bessie Love. The Dinosaur special effects are by Willis O’Brien (later King Kong animator)

12064 The Phantom of the Opera B+/B £90 (7x200’) OB This is the excellent 1925 version starring Lon Chaney (as the ‘Phantom’) & Mary Philbin (as ‘Christine), Lon Chaney is excellent in the leading role of the disfigured ‘Phantom’, very rare on any gauge!

14679 October (Ten Days that Shook the World) B+ £80 (7x200’) OB Made in 1928 this is filmed in a documentary style, it’s set in Russia in 1917, the fall of the Tsar, the creation of the provisional government and the decrees of peace and land in November. It also depicts a counter revolutionary revolt, which was suppressed, then into October when the Bolsheviks are ready to strike, in the 10 days that shook the world. This is the famous film written and directed by Sergei M. Eisenstein and Grigori Aleksandrov, rare on any gauge now!

14759 Seven Chances B+ £75 (6x400’) OB Brilliant Buster Keaton comedy from 1925. Financial banker Jimmie Shannon (Keaton) is nearly bankrupt, when he learns his Grandfather has died and left him 7 Million Dollars, on one condition he marries by 7p.m. on his 27th Birthday, which just happens to be TODAY! Now the fun begins!

8756 Tales of Beatrix Potter B+/B £40 (4x400’) OB P.M. Films release of this charming film that centres on characters created by Beatrix Potter, here interpreted in music and dance by the Royal British Ballet. The 8mm print is quite good, and being printed in the mid 1970’s the print looks as good as when it was first printed, the colours are a little muted, but I believe all prints are the same

10336 Percy’s Progress B £65 (4x400’) OB Leigh Lawson stars in a world where every man is impotent, and he’s the only guy who’s had a Penis transplant, and it’s working, and working well, so he’s become a very popular guy with the ladies. British sex comedy from 1974, and boasts a whole lot of guest stars like Elke Sommer, Judy Geeson, even Vincent Price has a cameo. It’s a fair Walton print which could do with a good clean

11566 Revenge B+/B £65 (4x400’) Made in 1971 this stars Joan Collins and James Booth as a family who are out for revenge on the man who raped and murdered there daughter

13439 The Love Pill B+/B £55 (4x400’) Early Derann release of this 1972 British Sex comedy, it’s about a man who discovers a candy that can be used as an aphrodisiac & a contraceptive (can I have one please!), it stars Henry Woolf, Toni Sinclair & David Pugh, the colour at best can only be described as average, but that was the norm for these early Derann colour releases, but boy is it rare now! So if you like your films to be a bit saucy, here it is!

10128 A Town Like Alice B+/B £75 (4x400’) Rare 8mm print starring Virginia McKenna & Peter Finch it’s a story set during the early days of WW2, the advancing Japanese army in the far east is capturing a lot of British territory, as well as the many people caught up in it, men are sent to labour camps, but the women and children are forced marched to try and find a camp for them, an Australian from a men’s camp sneaks food to them, and talks about his home in Australia, where after the war she visits, and settles down to life in the Outback.

11047 The Way To The Stars B+ £85 (2x800’) Michael Redgrave & John Mills star in WW2 drama concerning the life in and around an R.A.F. Bomber base at the start of the Battle of Britain, very rare!

11081 Flying Down To Rio B/B+ £65 (2x600’) Nowadays listed as a starring vehicle for Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, but they were only 4th & 5th billed as the listed stars were Delores Del Rio, Gene Raymond & Raul Roulien, but RKO soon saw the possibility with Astaire & Rogers and the rest is history

12164 The Flying Deuces B+/B £65 (4x400’) OB Fun Laurel & Hardy comedy from 1939, Stan & Ollie are in Paris, he falls for a lovely waitress Georgette, but when he finds out she is already married he joins the French Foreign Legion to forget, oh and Stan has to come too!

12474 Rancho Notorious B+ £65 (2x800’) Western adventure made in 1952 starring Marlene Dietrich, Arthur Kennedy & Mel Ferrer. A nice rancher (Kennedy) seeks out the men who killed his fiancée; his search leads him to Chuk-a-luck, a ranch run by Marlene Dietrich to hide criminals, but can he find the right man!

12608 Nightmare In Wax B+/B £65 (4x400’)  OB Cameron Mitchell plays a disfigured curator of a wax museum who kills his enemies and uses their bodies as exhibits

12747 I Married A Woman B+ £65 (4x400’) OB SCOPE Rare Mountain Films Scope print of this 1958 comedy starring Diana Dors, George Gobel and Adolph Menjou. It’s the story of an advertising executive (Gobel) who finds his work in conflict with his love life

12748 The Girl Most Likely B+ £60 (4x400’) OB Comedy musical from 1958 with Jane Powell and Cliff Robertson about a woman who’s said yes to marriage, to 2 men!

12804 The Magnificent Two B+/B £65 (4x400’)Morecambe & Wise comedy from 1967, they are toy salesmen sent to a S. American country, which has a violent internal conflict, it’s not going to end well for Eric & Ernie!

12805 The Trygon Factor B+/B £75 (2x800’) Ultra rare print of this early Walton release starring Stewart Grainger, Susan Hampshire & Robert Morley. A Scotland Yard detective (Grainger) investigates a series of robberies and murder, which leads him to a strange estate occupied by a wealthy, but very strange family, and he suspects that more is going on than meets the eye

13005 The Quiet Man B £55 (5x400’) OB John Wayne & Maureen O’Hara star in this John Ford Irish comedy drama classic, it doesn’t come up for sale very often now

13505 Evergreen B £45 (4x400’) Jessie Mathews stars in this 1934 musical drama, many books state that this was the first ever talking British musical, it’s still a good watch though!

13603 The 39 Steps B+ £75 (2x800’) Robert Donat & Madeleine Carroll star in this 1935 adaptation of the famous John Buchan story about a man forced on the run when a vicious spy ring wants information from him, of course this version was directed by Alfred Hitchcock

14714 Tension at Table Rock B+ £65 (4x400’) OB Western adventure from 1956, it stars Richard Egan, Dorothy Malone & Cameron Mitchell, a reluctant gunslinger adopts a new identity to stay out of trouble, at an outpost run by a Father and his young son he helps them out when robbers come a calling, and he agrees to take the boy to his Uncle in Table Rock

14716 The Magnificent Two B+/B £60 (4x400’) OB Eric Morecambe & Ernie Wise star as travelling toy salesmen in South America, who get caught up in a revolution, oh dear!

14742 Carve Her Name with Pride B+ £70 (5x400’) OB Virginia McKenna and Paul Scofield star in this true-life WW2 story of Violette Szabo, who is the daughter of an English Father and French Mother who is sent behind enemy lines as a resistance  fighter, and eventually she’s captured and shot as a spy

14842 Up in the World B to B/B+ £55 Rare print of this 1956 Norman Wisdom comedy, he plays a window cleaner at a country estate who saves the owners son from kidnappers, the print is a little soft in places, thus price

14843 Corregidor B+/B £55 OB Made in 1943, this is a story about the Philippines Island of Corregidor just after the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, it centres around a Hospital and staff on the island, who try to treat the sick and wounded. as U.S. and Filipino troops try to hold back the advancing Japanese Army. It stars Otto Kruger, Elisa Landi & Donald Woods, rare!

14927 Just For Fun B+/B £65 (2x600’ (@ 1000’)) Made in the early 1960’s, and introduced by a very young looking Bob Monkhouse, this tells the story of the early silent cinema, with many clips. I’m not sure who released this, I’ve never seen it before, so very rare indeed!

12172 Babes In Toyland B+/B £60 (4x400’) OB Laurel & Hardy comic operetta from 1934 in which they play Stannie Dum & Ollie Dee who get into the usual “L&H” fixes!

14711 The Sweeney – Down to you Brother B £75 (3x400’) OB Rare Walton release of this 1970’s British cop show starring John Thaw & Dennis Waterman, only fair colour

14717 The Wild Geese B to B/B+ £45 (2x600’) Richard Burton, Roger Moore & Richard Harris lead a team of mercenaries are sent to save the life of a deposed African President, and when at the last minute they are betrayed, they have to get home somehow

14870 Acquasanta Joe B+/B £65 (3x400’) OB i.e. films international release of this 1971 Spaghetti Western adventure starring Lincoln Tate, he’s a bounty hunter, and made the mistake of putting his money in the local Bank, as a gang of robbers armed with a cannon rob it, he sets out to get his money back, anyway he can. Still a pretty good print (although it was never stunning from new!), and it is very entertaining, in its own way!

14974 Where Eagles Dare B to B/B+ £55 (3x400’) OB Apart from a light green scratch (not too bad)and a few marks this is still a solid colour print of this action thriller with Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood and Mary Ure, based upon the Alistair MacLean blockbuster book

9103 The Flying Deuces B £45 (2x600’) This is the rare Walton 3x400’ version starring Laurel & Hardy, it’s had some use, but could be cleaned up to get the print looking better

11271 Block–Heads B+/B £65 (400’ & 800’) Nice Walton print of this 1938 Laurel & hardy classic, Stan’s been missing since the end of WW1, he doesn’t know the war is over, and he’s been guarding his trench ever since, when word eventually comes through to Ollie, he decides to take him home to meet the wife, sorry Ollie, that’s a bad mistake. This really is one of the ‘Boys’ best features

13454 Saps at Sea B+/B £65 (3x400’) Walton print of this classic 1940 Laurel & Hardy comedy, Ollie is suffering from ‘Hornophobia’ (he works in a horn factory, you see!), and he’s told to relax and take in the sea air, but an ex-con on the run turns up on their boat, and things get a bit complicated, as only L&H could make them

14912 The Flying Deuces B+ £70 (3x400’) Laurel & Hardy comedy from 1939, Ollie is spurned by a woman, what else id there to do but join ‘The Foreign Legion’ to forget, oh and Stan has to come and forget with him. Some hilarious routines and stunt work in the movie

14913 Swiss Miss B+ £75 (3x400’) Brilliant Laurel & Hardy movie from 1938, the boys are Mousetrap sellers, so go to Switzerland where all the cheese is made, there’s bound to be a few Mice around, but the boy’s get swindled out of their money, and have to work off there debt in a Hotel, that’s where the fun really begins, nice Walton print

11837 The Flying Deuces B+  £65  (3x400’) OB Fine Walton print of this classic 1939 Laurel & Hardy comedy, Stan & Ollie are visiting Paris, Ollie (as he does!) falls in love, but is spurned, so there is only one thing to do, commit suicide, and Stan, as his friend, has got to do the same, until they are stopped and told there is another way to forget, join the French Foreign Legion, then the fun begins!

11795 Confessions Of A Driving Instructor B £25 (600’) British sex comedy from 1976, Robin Askwith & Anthony Booth star as two randy driving instructors. Well run print, with a few splices as I think it’s been put into correct running order, the colour is still nice though

11995 The Adventures of the Wilderness Family B+/B £20 PN: as some fade, thus price  Made in 1975 this is a family nature orientated fare starring Robert Logan

12574 The Electric Horseman B+ £38 (800’) Robert Redford & Jane Fonda star in this 1979 modern day western drama about setting free a valuable Horse

12624 Carousel Pt.5 B+ £40 SCOPE (600’) This is the last part of the classic 1956 musical starring Gordon MacRae & Shirley Jones, includes ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’

12908 Journey into Spring B+ £45 (600’) Rare BAFTA winning British Transport Films nature documentary from 1957 (it was also nominated for 2 Oscars as well), it looks back at pioneering eighteenth century naturalist Gilbert White, and then looks at the natural landscape near White’s home of Selbourne in Hampshire between a typical March and May

12300 Good-Bye Emmanuelle B+/B (Part 1) – B+ (Part 2) £45 (2x400’) OB The third in the Emmanuelle series of sex films, starring once again Sylvia Kristel, the 8mm prints are still in pretty good shape too!

13515 Soft Beds, Hard Battles  B+/B £40 OB PM Films release of this 1974 comedy set in Nazi occupied France, it stars Peter Sellers in a variety of roles

13614 Those Mad, Mad Movie Makers B+/B £40 (2x400’) Iver Films release of this 1974 comedy, two young men want to make a porno movie, and borrow money from friends and relatives claiming they are making a religious film, but then the film becomes a hit, oh dear!

14693 The Champions – The Beginning A- £45 (2x400’) OB Really rare print of this Techno Film release of this ITC series. Here’s a thing, I believe it’s a brand new print except for the first few feet of part one I ran through (part 2 still has its paper centre), it’s still a nice print too, but it’s in an Italian box, and to my dismay after buying it, it’s in Italian as well, but it’s so rare in this condition it may be worth seeking out a fellow collectors English version and transferring the English track to this print as i9t’s the same version, worth having a go!

14946 The Slipper and the Rose B+ £30 (600’) SCOPE P/N: Has slight fade Richard Chameberlain and Gemma Craven star in this 1976 musical version of Cinderella

14979 North Sea Hijack (a.k.a. “Ffolkes”) B+ £30 (2x400’) OB P/N: Has slight fade Pretty rare print of this Roger Moore action thriller from 1980, it’s extremely well edited and also stars James Mason & Anthony Perkins (in one of his baddie roles, again!)

8746 Kidnapped B+/B £45 (600’) This is an ultra rare segment from the 1936 Laurel & Hardy comedy musical “The Bohemian Girl”, and features mostly L&H’s magical comedy, Perry’s movies release
