This was a new, combined kind of film collecting venture which involved both the BFCC and Blackpool NFCC teams at the Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre, 4 Midland Street, Leicester LE1 1TG and organized by John Franklin who came to the Chorleywood BFCC in April with the idea.

Film Is Fabulous! was a joint effort with other organizations and primarily the De Montfort University to ensure film is preserved for future generations. Much promotion was carried out for this convention and many flyers were produced for that purpose. Mainstream media, including broadcast television ensued and as I type this more than two weeks after the event we are still getting press coverage in national newspapers.
